Rebuild Service Includes Leak repair and Lash setting

I do not rebuild/repair the deep Internal parts (i.e. I am not going to mess with those pesky 23 small ball bearings, or the internal PTFE Teflon o-rings). I have now done 20 hydros, and have not found any that were worn out.

The main large Gear Set has not shown any visible wear. One 635 had 277,000 miles.

I can repair the leaks in your steering hydro.

I will replace all of the rubber seals to eliminate the exterior leak points. More info

Rebuild process it to install all new seals and 3 Needle Bearings, the same sizes as BMW.

I do not get into the internal inner workings of the Hydro. The only way to tighten up loose steering is by resetting the Lash, this is the way BMW has to solve this problem. I reset the lash as part of my replacing the exterior perimeter seals.

The original non caged bearings are difficult to remove as they are pressed in.

I have a removal tool designed just for this purpose, but it is not effective on every occasion.

When the edge fractures off, its a bitch to remove, and in a blind hole it requires extreme measures, bottom of photo.

BMW did not design this Hydro to be rebuild-able, but I can do it.

Please try and empty any fluid inside and place into a kitchen trash bag to contain any escaping fluids. Also, try and plug the in/out ports and please double bag.

Please make sure that the Hydro is not allowed to move around, inside the box, and that the padding is stiff enough (not compressible) to not allow the Hydro to move around and puncture the plastic bags.

Its like two 10 lb bowling balls trying to mate and escape the box.

The Cast Iron Hydro, return ship weight is about 25-26 lbs. (11.34 -11.79) Kilos. with box and ATF, no padding.

The Hydro will not fit in a USPS Flat Rate Box. So I use a 13x9x8 return box.
